Growing up on an organic arable farm, I'm fully aware of the issues facing farming and long-term food security. It is important that our farmers can produce safe, healthy food and get a fair price for it. I want our land to be productive for future generations.
Last week, thanks to the Conservative Environment Network, I had the privilege to visit Martin Line's farm to see the progress he has achieved with the Nature Friendly Farming Network. The NFFN unites farmers across the UK who champion how food and farming can positively influence change.
I share this commitment to shaping food and farming policies that ensure fair returns for farmers, agriculture policies that guarantee increased availability of sustainable food, and enhanced care for the environment.
